• the more challenging, but equally more rewarding route to Everest base camp • 17 nights in village & mountain lodges • includes all the close viewpoints of the Ebc trek, plus the thrilling Cho La snow pass & the stunning Gokyo valley with its unique panoramic viewpoints of Cho Oyu, Makalu and the North Face of Everest

The 360 degree panorama from Gokyo Ri is thought by many to be the best in the world.
Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu and thousands more: sheer vertical faces, sculpted pinnacles above the crystalline lakes. Others say that from the 'nameless towers' above the 4th lake it is even better - as more of the Tibetan north face is visible.
This trek does both and more.
We spend 2 very rewarding days at Gokyo, after careful acclimatisation from Namche Bazaar.
Then we head over the Cho La pass - strenuous stuff, but so amazing to pick our way among these ice peaks to come face to face with the stunning towers of Ama Dablam.
The close-up view of the black face of Everest and its base camp from Kalapattar is our reward for the crossing, with an option on the slightly more strenuous route to the even better view right into the Western Cwm from the Pumori ridge.
Our return includes Thyangboche monastery on route to the flight out from Lukla.
This trek requires you to be pretty fit,
with some previous experience of walking in a mountain environment. |
